Manager, Project Finance - Renewables. Lead Role, Well Placed Australian Platform.

Due to sustained growth our client is recruiting a Project Finance Manager to their team. The role will involve evaluating project feasibility, conducting financial analysis, structuring financing arrangements, and ensuring effective financial management throughout the project lifecycle. The PF Manager collaborates with various stakeholders, including project managers, investors, lenders, and government agencies, to secure funding, manage financial risks, and achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct financial due diligence to assess the viability and financial feasibility of proposed projects. 
  • Analyze market conditions, regulatory environment, and financial risks to determine project viability and potential returns. 
  • Develop financial models and sensitivity analysis to evaluate different project scenarios and investment outcomes. 
  • Structure project financing, considering the most appropriate mix of equity, debt, and other financing instruments. 
  • Identify and negotiate with potential lenders and investors to secure funding for the project. 
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance with financing agreements and project documentation. 
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to track project financial performance and cash flow projections. 
  • Conduct financial analysis to monitor project profitability, identify variances, and propose corrective actions as needed. 
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for project stakeholders, including senior management and investors. 
  • Identify and assess financial risks associated with the project, including market, credit, and operational risks.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to safeguard project financial health. 
  • Monitor risk exposure throughout the project lifecycle and update risk assessments accordingly. 
  • Communicate financial insights and updates to project teams, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with project objectives.

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting,Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g. CFA) is a plus. 
  • Proven experience (typically 6/7+ years) in project finance, infrastructure finance, or corporate finance with exposure to project-based environments. 
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools. 
  • In-depth knowledge of project finance principles, risk assessment, and financial regulations. 
  • Familiarity with public-private partnerships(PPPs) and infrastructure development projects is advantageous.
