Investment Director, Real Estate Debt Fund - Origination

Our client is a growing and active domestic credit fund with an already strong track record. They are seeking a talented and ambition individual to help spearhead their efforts in opportunistic real estate private credit. This position will play a crucial role in driving their continued success and growth.

You will be involved across the deal lifecycle, but a key emphasis of this role will be on deal sourcing and origination. This position requires a deep understanding of real estate markets, an analytical foundation, and the natural ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with developers and investors.

For the right candidate the role offers the opportunity to join a small group of well credentialed professionals, working in a highly collaborative environment to drive the sustainable growth of the business. The ideal candidate profile will include deep experience in the NSW property market with leading institutions and will be able to demonstrate the origination of smaller ticket tailored real estate financing solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Origination Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive origination strategy to identify and evaluate real estate investment opportunities that align with the firm's investment objectives and risk appetite.
  • Deal Sourcing: Proactively source, assess, and analyse potential real estate investment opportunities, including commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties, through market research, networking, and collaboration with industry partners.
  • Structuring and Due Diligence: Assist the structuring and due diligence process for potential investments, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment in collaboration with credit analysts.
  • Investment Committee: Prepare and present investment proposals to the investment committee, articulating the investment thesis, financial analysis, and risk factors. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and ensure seamless execution of approved transactions.
  • Market Monitoring: Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
